Do not throw anything down the disposal that could ruin the drain such as avocado seeds, corn husks, or coffee grounds.

If your water heater is making noises it needs to be looked at by a professional plumber ASAP. The longer you wait the worse the problem could get. If there is something in the drain it could start to build residue or sediment.
